Venus Snap Review

This review is a little late, but here it is!!! (Also, here is a quick Instagram video ...)

SO! This review is on the Venus Snap. I got it in a box from Influenster about a month. I was a little scared, since I haven't been having the best luck with Influenster products recently, but this one was a hit.

To start off, let me say this is a 10/10 product ... not something that comes along all the time. I am rather picky about what I consider a "good" razor, and this one simply fits the bill.

My standards say:

1) There must be at least 4 blades.

2) There must be a strip of gel to moisturize my legs and to help avoid razor burn.

3) The handle cannot be square (you know, like the cheap-o disposables?)

That's it. This razor took care of all of that, plus had some bonuses.

Bonuses:

1) SIZE.  It is tiny enough to fit in my purse or travel bag without any fuss (which means if I decide to go swimming after a long day of work, I can take care of business easily).

2) The razor heads are disposable. I can take any Venus (and maybe other brands, I'm not sure) razor head and attach it to the body.

Well, let me explain about the razor head that is on the Venus Snap. Firstly, it is the Gillette Venus Embrace.

Love it.

The shave was close, smooth, and there was no razor burn. Thanks, Influenster. This is probably one of my top 5 products I have been sent.

A Late Haul!!!!

Hello everyone! I know its been a while ... but I've just had so much fun playing with my new stuff!!!

In this particular haul, I ended up getting free shipping ($35+ order) and the brush set for like $3, which is why I even ordered. I am in love with the hair quality on these brushes but not so much the durability ... a.k.a. the head of my favorite brush fell off within a week and I had to superglue it back on. Sad day :(

Pictured here are the compressed powder (great for a foundation or a concealer), a mineral lipstick, and the zit zapper. Yes, I have seen some results with the zit zapper.

This is the mineral lipstick I ordered. The pigmentation is just fine, it feels nice on my lips, and the casing looks sleek. 2 thumbs up!

This is the elf trio polish set in nice and natural. They are shades that go with every season, as long as you can find their soul mate!

Since purchasing this, I have received the poreless primer ... and they both seem to work about the same. At first, I really loved them. Now, (and maybe I am using them wrong) I don't hardly use this ever. I use a bare minerals foundation, and this just clogs up my brush :(

This is the tone correcting concealer ... but I use it as an eyeshadow base and a concealer (for my eyes and, really, any other trouble spots on my face). For a $1, it is worth the purchase. I have been using Almay for a year or so, and this works just as well. (It is a little on the yellow side ...)

These are the makeup remover wipes. Although I keep telling myself I won't be buying these again ... I use them almost every night. They are convenient and they work ... what else can you ask for? They don't sting my eyes at all, but they are kind of oily? That's not 100% true, but I can't think of another way to explain it. DON'T use it on your face unless you intend to wash your face afterwards.

Nail polish!!! Of course. If you are subscribed to me on youtube (we just hit 120 friendlies!!!), you know I looooove nail polish... even if I can't wear it as often as I would like.

Order Updates

I ordered 2 tarts from JewelryInCandles on 12/27. Today is 2/17 and I just got an email saying it is being processed, which means it will be another two weeks until I get my package. That's two months ... I sure hope they throw in some extra jewelry for good measure!

Secondly! I have two orders that I am expecting from eyeslipsface.com: one from their 50% off sale and one from their $25 gift card sale. I received an email today saying the first package has been shipped!!!! Hopefully it will be here by the end of the week!!!!

e.l.f. 14-Piece Nail Cube (Jewel Tones)

This is the nail polish portion of my eyeslipsface.com haul. The colros I am reviewing are all from the.e.l.f. Essential 14-Piece Nail Cube - Limited Edition (Jewel Tones). It retails for $14 (which comes out to $1 each), but you can often find them on sale for $10.

This first color is "Taupe of the world".

It has a bit of a purple-ish hue to it, even though its a brown. In comparision to the "Smokey Brown", this shade is lighter.

Blushing Beauty

This one in my top favorite colors. Its very christmas-like and reminds me of tinsel. Yes, it goes on opaque, but it really looks much better with 2 coats. If you have ANY color under it, its opaque in one coat.

I really like the little bit of sparkle that is has ... it even has a bit of a bronze tint to it.

Dazzle Diva

This requires no less than 3 coats to look like my nail in the photo. It's a opalescent color, which might be why I don't like it very much.

Red-y or Not

This is a very jolly, merry, christmas-y color. The little bit of glittery look that is has is very nice. It goes really well with the "blushing beauty" and all the browns. Two coats.

Desert Haze

Desert haze is very similar to "Innocent", except that it is darker.

Sea Escape

... Not sure about this one. Okay, that's not true. I'm sure that the idea was good, but this is not a favorite color. It seems to be black polish with lots of blue glitter in it. Unfortunately, its really hard to see any blue unless you are looking really close. 

On the other hand, if you use either the "Gold Star" or "Chic Confetti" on top of this, you are able to see the blue sparkles. Not sure why ...

Anyways, this makes a good base for "Dazzle Diva".

Cherry Bomb

This color was oe of the reasons I chose this set. I was disappointed with it. It is so dark, it almost looks like a brown. If you are a vampire, it looks like dried blood. Three coats until is was opaque.

Violet Velvet

Who likes purple? Who enjoys date night? Good, here is the polish for you. It goes on really dark, but you can definitely see the nice shade of violet. It is opaque (with no base coat) after one coat, but it looks best with 2 coats.

If I had to describe the look this gives you, it would be "mysterious" .....

Misty Haze

I do love gray nail polish. Why? It goes with every color out there!!!!

This was a very nice color, 2 coats needed, has a tiny hint of blue.

Chic Confetti

Eh. Its Christmas confetti: white, blue, green, red, and gold. I like glitter, but not confetti so much. If you like to have a party on your fingernails, have at it. It does work really well, its just not my type.

Gold Star

THIS is my type. It works great with 2 coats on almost every color, especially red and green. And white. This is probably my favorite polish in the whole set. It is a great combination of tiny glitter and larger glitter. Very much recommended! (Also, you can find this in a trio on the website)

Glamour Girl

This is like taupe with gold glitter. Enough said.

Green Machine

At first, I was like "Ah!! Green!" When it was on my fingers, it was more like "ah ... that's pretty dark ..."

E.L.F. Polish Trio Review

I recently received my huge haul from eyeslipsface.com. It included polish, makeup removers, the zip zapper ... lots of stuff! Today I want to talk about just this trio.

First, you should know that ELF offers 3 versions of this trio for $3. The set you see above is the "Nice and Natural". This trio set must be a very popular item, because when I went to order, I only had 2 or 3 different sets to choose from; the rest were out of stock!

Next. I do like ELF polish. It takes a long time to dry properly if you apply it too thick; keep that in mind when using it.

 In this "Nice and Natural" set, I loved all three colors. They go well together, they make a great base to add with other colors (neutrals or neons), they work well as accents ... if you like fall or chocolate, this is the set to have.

The colors in the picture are as follows, from left to right: "Smokey Brown", "Innocent", and "Nude".

Smokey Brown is a nice ...  dusty, smokey color. I want to get a nice royal blue to use with it. No, it doesn't look like poop.

The innocent is a much lighter version of smokey brown. It is a nice color for spring, as you could easily incorporate it into a color scheme of all pastels.

Nude was also just that; nude. I could hardly tell it was on my fingers. For someone with a darker skin tone, I'm sure it would stand out nicely. I would also make for great accents with a stamp kit.

Review of 8 Aziza Palettes

Aziza ... Dollar Tree ...

When I first bought these palettes, I thought is as getting something special. There were tons of shades that I loved and lots of potential. Thus, I bought all 8 that were available for $1 each. After doing some research, I found that these are really more of 2-3 star item instead of the 3-4 star that I thought they were. I tried out every color on every palette!!! Here is my final decision/opinion.

Overview of all these Aziza palettes

Here are some important things to know before buying the palettes, things that hold true for all 8 of these palettes.

1) The light colors barely show, even with primer and a white cream base color.

2) These are not very pigmented at all.

3) The colors really do go well together. If you are looking to buy individual colors somewhere else, you can use these palettes as a reference for what shades to put together.

4) You will need to use a primer and maybe a white cream base color, also, to get the colors to show at all.

5) The product lasts pretty long with E.L.F. Primer. (No creasing, also.)

6) Aziza is a dollar store product that is dollar store quality.

Dallas was the one palette everyone raved about.  They loved the natural color palette and how each shade blended well with the others. I liked all the colors on here except for the three lightest ones. My favorite was the darkest brown, a sort of dusty, muddy chocolate.

Paris was the first palette I did swatches of. I had to go over the colors 4-5 times to get them to show very well on my hand. This was a tie for my least favorite palette. The colors are too childish, in my opinion.

Nashville was the other tie for my least favorite, mostly because I REALLY don't like blue eyeshadow. The dark blue on this would be better if it were more pigmented. As it stands, I used a base and primer, as well as packed on the powder, and I still ended up with a barely-there color. 

On another note, I really liked the grey-ish and the lighter red (a.k.a. The colors with hearts on them in the picture below.)

Phoenix was actually a favorite. I was disappointed with the mint; I was hoping it would be more pigmented. As you can see in the picture, the mint comes out as more of a light day-look than a bold look. I actually like it just a such tis way, so no hard feelings, Aziza!

The greys surprised me. They made for a great smokey look. Since there is. Bright and a dark grey, a smokey look is possible for both a day a night look with this palette. 

The white made for the best brow highlighter out of all the palettes.

The red is a fantastic brick color that is rather tame. The pigment leans towards a brown rather than an orange, so the red isn't harsh in any sense of the word. 

A FAVORITE PALETTE!!!

This New York palette reminds me of chocolate bars.

Nothing special about this palette. Every shade is a variation or copy of the other shades. I did have three favorite colors, though.

I apologize for the blurry photos! I didn't realize until it was too late!!!

I really liked the plum on this one. I loved the reddish tendencies it had, pulling away from the blues found in a lot of purples. It makes it easier to use a purple without having a black eye look!

Denver ... was just fine. I liked the chocolates in this one a lot. The shade of blue also seemed brighter that with Paris. On the right, you can see where I paired the darkest brown with the blue and came up with a fun day or night look.

This is probably the best palette they have, if you prefer green eyeshadow over blue. It very much reminds me of a forest palette. If you want a subtle, earthy look, this is the one to buy. The green is such a shade that it doesn't overpower you with color. The browns are such that you can easily creat a smokey look without being too dark.

I would not say that this is a palette for a night look, though, as these h no turn out to be very pigmented.
